Abstract

Character education is an important foundation for individual success in the future. However, whether the character education carried out is in accordance with the philosophical basis of Islamic education. This research was conducted using the phenomenological study method at SDN Curahmalang III. With data collection techniques in the form of interviews, direct observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis is done by reducing, presenting data in narrative form, and concluding. The results showed that character education carried out at SDN Curahmalang III is in accordance with the philosophical basis from the point of view of Islamic education in carrying out efforts to educate student character. Including the values of leadership, collaboration, ukhuwah islamiyah, discipline, and lifelong learning. With various programmes carried out such as marching, carrying out routine pickets, implementing a system that supports students to compete, and conducting P5 activities by collaborating with student guardians. However, there are still obstacles in the implementation of these programmes such as the punctuality of the guardians and the implementation schedule made by the teachers is still uncertain and can change.
